Hello, my name is Sakenia! I began my braiding journey at 15 on my grandmother’s back porch. Starting with limited resources, I learned to style my own hair, and that necessity grew into a real passion. My hairstyles gained attention, and soon people began asking, “How much do you charge?” One client led to another, and I became known for my hairstyling skills.

Wigs came into my work later when I saw the potential to transform them into beautiful, unique styles. Through countless hours of “YouTube University,” I taught myself how to customize wigs, realizing I could help others feel amazing in both their hair and wigs.

A few years ago, clients facing cancer started coming to me for wigs. But it was the impact of alopecia that truly opened my eyes to the needs of women dealing with hair loss. I hadn’t fully understood their challenges until my own hair began thinning from medication and life’s stresses. I saw how few options there were, especially for women wanting braided styles but with little to no hair.

When I posted a photo of myself in one of my custom braided wigs in an alopecia support group, the response was incredible—within 60 days, I had made more money than I had on my old job. Each wig solved a need and helped these women regain their confidence. It’s been an honor to support them on their journey, and I’m committed to creating beautiful, empowering options for women facing hair loss.
